The amount of research that goes into camper travel can be both a fun pastime and a curse. Spending hours punching away the keys and venturing deep into the eight, ninth, tenth page of Google search results can drive the most serene of us up the wall. That’s why it’s nice to be able to rely on one resource when we’re plotting our travels.

Difficulties can be amplified tenfold when we’re talking about somewhere remote, like the Kimberley. So it was with glorious relief that we tracked down 100 Things to See in the Kimberley, a book composed by Scotty Connell, a local guide with abundant experience in the area. His book is even endorsed by the icon of good roosterhood, Nick ‘Honey Badger’ Cummins.

The 180 A5 pages, held nicely within a stiff, glossy cover with a folded flap, are organised into sections based on regions. As you go through it, you discover clearly labelled points of interest, with accompanying images; for this guide is image-dominant; it inspires and explains visually. Some of these places and experiences you’ve heard of; others, you’d probably never hear about if it wasn’t for this. The text gives you a rundown of key facts about each one. What a great place to start plotting your travels up this way.
