Available in 25A and 50A versions, the REDARC BCDC Alpha is the latest iteration of REDARC’s more than 15 years of BCDC technology and there’s a lot of smart technology incorporated into its compact design to make life easier for all.
One standout feature is the Start Battery Recovery capability, which can revive a flat start battery in about 15 minutes — making it the only DC-DC charger that can both charge and recover start batteries on the market today.
Not only can the BCDC Alpha revive your start battery, but with its optimised solar charging functionality it will direct any surplus power back to the start battery, ensuring it remains fully charged and ready to go.
The BCDC Alpha is designed to work seamlessly with all standard automotive battery types, and its customisable input current limiting feature helps safeguard vehicle alternators. This feature means that the BCDC Alpha is a great choice for hybrid and electric vehicles and demonstrates that REDARC is designing its new products to be prepared for the future of vehicle technology.
Installing the BCDC Alpha is straightforward thanks to user-friendly pushbutton controls and screw connections — no complicated wiring or soldering required. REDARC has also created a range of wiring kits and mounting brackets to ensure you can get the right gear for your specific vehicle.
Getting the device up and running is equally simple, helped by Bluetooth connectivity to the RedVision app, which allows you to monitor the state of charge, temperature and overall performance. Additionally, REDARC has enabled over-the-air software updates, keeping your system equipped with the latest features.
Like all REDARC products, the BCDC Alpha is backed by years of expert knowledge and has been designed and manufactured locally with Australia’s tough conditions in mind. It boasts an IP67-69K-rated rugged construction, providing protection against dust and moisture, ensuring you can cruise with confidence, even through some deep water crossings.
Peter Favilla, REDARC’s global president, commented on the new release, stating “The BCDC Alpha exemplifies REDARC’s commitment to innovation and adaptability in a rapidly evolving market. With features like Start Battery Recovery and input current limiting, the BCDC Alpha delivers peace of mind through its unmatched durability and advanced technology, ensuring reliable power in the most critical moments.”
REDARC Electronics is an Australian-owned company and provides its customers with a wide range of videos and product support information. And should you need more technical advice, the South Australian-based helpful tech support team (all of whom are qualified auto-electricians or electronics technicians) can lend a hand.
