More than 350,000 D-MAX AND MU-X on Australian roads

With more than 250,000 Isuzu D-MAX utes and over 100,000 MU-X SUVs currently on Australian roads, it’s no wonder Isuzu UTE (Australia) recently celebrated its sales milestone.

Isuzu UTE Australia recently celebrated three sales milestones underscoring the popularity of its D-MAX ute — one of Australia’s favourites — and the seven-seat MU-X SUV.

A total of 250,789 of the legendary Isuzu D-MAX utes have been sold since the model made its 2008 debut, while102,080 MU-X seven-seat SUVs have made their way into Aussie homes since it launched in 2013 — marking over 350,000 Isuzu utes and SUVs on Australian roads since 2008.

According to the Federal Chamber of Automotive Industries (FCAI), utes continue to chart as Australia’s favourite vehicle, with three of the top four best-selling vehicles being utes. Among them, the Isuzu D-MAX ranks fourth overall and third in the ‘1-tonne ute’ segment, with 25,644 deliveries recorded between January and October 2024.

The Isuzu MU-X continues to prove popular, with 15,584 of the SUV finding homes among Australian families, businesses and adventure-seekers — eclipsing the previous annual record of 14,139 sold throughout 2023.

Isuzu UTE Australia’s managing director, Junta Matsui, said the accomplishments are “testament to the continual evolution of our product which has earnt a place with our valued customers.”

“From our humble beginnings in 2008 to becoming one of the most trusted and capable vehicle brands on the market, over 350,000 Isuzu D-MAX and MU-X on Australian roads is proof of how far our vehicles have evolved over the years, earning a place in the lives of hundreds of thousands of Australians who rely on our vehicles every day,” he said.
